The measuring device built in to the VC2000 is a high precision accelerometer, whichmeasures acceleration (motion as a rate-of-change of speed). The output of the accelerometer (G-force) is read by a computer within the VC2000. The computer contains an accurate, crystal controlled clock. The computer uses the G-force data and the clock to calculate speed through a mathematical process called integration. The computer then uses speed and time to calculate distance. This entire concept is called inertial navigation, which has been used for decades in airplanes and guided missles.

This unit has the capability of displaying:

• Speed and RPM at peak G-Force
• 0-60mph, 0-30mph accelleration time
• Elapsed Time and MPH at 15', 30', 60',330',1/8 mile, 1/4 mile
• 44 bits of information which are retrievable at the end of just one run
