This system provides outstanding horsepower at engine speeds up to 6500 RPM.
This design incorporates a large box-type plenum, high-flow runners and our
famous high performance base manifold. Topping it off is our huge 1000 CFM
throttle body. No other EFI system in the world can match the combination of
power, torque, and throttle response of our SuperRam on a small block Chevy.
With the right cam and cylinder heads, a very streetable 500 horsepower is
possible with excellent gas mileage.
SuperRam Works Best on Large Engines
Tuned Port EFI systems like our SuperRam are very effective at producing
torque at normal engine speeds but are sensitive to engine displacement.
In typical street service, our testing has shown that his system works best
on engines of 350 cubic inches or larger. Plenum size and runner length are
optimized for these larger engines. Smaller engines may be used with this
system, but must be built for high RPM usage (6500+). For 302, 305, and 327
engines operating at normal engine speeds we recommend the use of our
StreetRam system.
High Tech Computer and Sensors Maximize Performance and Driveability.
The heart of the SuperRam system is a powerful microprocessor. Its primary
role is precise control of the fuel injectors. The computer relies on a
variety of sensor inputs to make the constant adjustments to fuel flow that
are necessary in an automotive engine. For example, a coolant temperature
sensor tells the computer to add more fuel when the engine is cold.
An air temp sensor adjusts for changes in air temperature and density.
The manifold absolute pressure sensor, (MAP sensor) in combination with the
throttle position sensor (TPS) tell the computer how much to adjust for
engine load. An idle air control monitor adjusts idle speed to compensate
for accessories like air conditioning. An oxygen sensor in the exhaust
maximizes fuel economy at cruise speeds.
All of these adjustments take place at lightning speed, hundreds of times
per second, to assure you of outstanding engine performance and excellent
economy.
Total Engine Management
The SuperRam's computer system is also capable of controlling your ignition
timing. This makes it a comprehensive engine management system with
outstanding flexibility. Simply plug the harness into an electronically
controllable distributor and the SuperRam computer does the rest. Calmap
calibration software is also available for reprogramming the ECU for custom
engine applications.
Easy Installation
The SuperRam is a bolt-on product. The kit comes complete with everything you
need for installation. This includes computer (ECU), wiring harness, plenum,
runners, base manifold, throttle body, air filter, fuel injectors, all
sensors, mounting hardware and complete instructions.
