Fuel Injection Wiring Harnesses

New Engine Wiring Harnesses

At Fuel Injection Specialties, we build custom wiring harnesses that will simplify the installation of your GM fuel injected motor. Since our harnesses are custom built to order, we can provide you with a harness that will allow you to eliminate all emissions items for your Off Road Application or retain all emission components*, including EGR, AIR Pump, CANP, etc. as needed.

All harnesses built by Fuel Injection Specialties are configured to plug into OEM components at their stock locations. We only use OEM connectors and incorporate original color coded wire. For quality purposes, all terminals and splices are soldered. All harnesses, including modified harnesses, are covered with convoluted tubing and labeled for ease of installation. We also include the fuel pump relay, ALDL Connector (Scanner Plug), Check Engine Light wiring, and mini fuseblock with all stand-alone harnesses.

Custom Harnesses for your Accel DFI or F.A.S.T. System

Stand-alone harnesses can be built to include wiring for electronic transmissions (4L60E/4L80E), computer controlled fan wiring, and requested emissions components. All new stand-alone harnesses built by Fuel Injection Specialties come standard with 5 feet of trunk to give you flexibility for computer location. If needed, we can build a harness for any custom configuration.

*All harnesses are sold as "For Off-Road Use Only." Check with your local Inspection Center for local requirements to pass emissions.

Engine Wiring Harness Modifications

Fuel Injection Specialties offers a harness modification service where your OEM GM harness can be modified to retrofit to any vehicle. If you have a factory harness, in good condition, FIS will remove all connectors not required without sacrificing any engine performance. We will install the ALDL (Data Link) connector, Service Engine Soon/Malfunction Indicator Lamp wiring, fuel pump relay and mini fuseblock, as well as identify all interconnecting leads to your vehicle including:

Ignition Power
Battery Power
Ground Connection
Fuel Pump
AC Compressor (picks up engine idle when AC is "ON")
Crank Signal (small lead on starter solenoid)

Modified harnesses are fitted with new convoluted tubing as required. Broken and or missing connectors are replaced. All components will plug into the devices and sensors of your engine.

Harness Interface

For customers who are putting a fuel injected motor into a vehicle that is already fuel injected, we can provide a harness interface service where we take the harness from the original vehicle and interface the electronics for the new engine. This allows you to have one nice, neat plug & play harness and simplify the wiring. Call for more details.

Supplemental Wiring Kits

In addition to engine management harnesses, Fuel Injection Specialties can supply you with the following wiring kits:

Torque Converter Control-(TCC) Lock-Up Kit
This is a non computer controlled interface kit than can be used with or without a computer controlled engine. The Torque converter locks up when the transmission shifts to 4th Gear, and releases when the transmission downshifts to 3rd or when the brakes are applied. This kit can be built into the harness or as a stand-alone control system and includes Wiring Harness, TCC Connector, Control Relay, installation wiring diagram, and three wire Vehicle Interface.
Electric Fan Control Kit (1 Fan) or (2 Fan)
For non computer controlled fans, Fuel Injection Specialties offers an Electric Fan Control Kit. The Fan activates at 205 Deg F, turns Off at 190 Deg F. For 2 Fan Kit, secondary fan is activated when A/C is turned on. Kit includes:
- OEM Relay(s)
- Fan Switch
- Wiring Assembly
The Fan Switch mounts in 3/8" NPT cavity in head, intake manifold, or block water port. This kit may be purchased as a stand alone harness or built into an engine wiring harness.
